I am working hard on restouring my volga -75 with doghouse orignal? new prop 15x21 vp mercedes engine 115 hp.
New electricity wiring, overheated engine and some new interior.
lots of work but what a fantastic boat
History: four boats were special made for finish coastguard 1975. Two was smashed and crashed and two was sold probably 1990. I bought my boat in finland it was in the same shape as used by the coastguard 280 and 15x17 prop but the engine was changed by the owner before me to a mercedes diesel 5 cyl 3,0 l 115 hp now conected to the 280. I changed the prop to 15x21 it makes 40 knots at 4200 rpm. But a lot to do. The boat was not in so good condition as i thought when i bought it.
Does anyone know where the serialnumber or shipyard name are marked in the boat?

Hello Klas,
Thank you for that picture! Could you tell us Volga-enthusiasts more about the history of the boat (coastguard - but what was it's original area of navigation?), where you got it, what is the "serialnumber", which shipyard was it made, what kind engine you have in it now, etc? I don't think I have seen a Volga in this particular configuration before. It looks good - and rather comfortable for cold weather!
Welcome to the Volga forum!
Maurits

Here are some pictures of my Volga just before going into the water. It has been a long winter. Hopefully i have found out what was wrong with the cooling of the engine, it was the thermostat that was not for boat engine but truck. The thermostat looked ok and opend at the right temp but it could not close the by pass line in the engine. It was only taking warm water from the engine when it should take cool water from the cooler. Hopefully it will work now. I will also test a lot of different propps 15x17, 15x21 and 14x19

Dear Klas,
My boat has the serial number (hull number) in the engine room. It is being bolted or rivetted on starboard side, just below the engine hood.
The serial number of the engine is on the bolted again on the fresh water tank (and not on the engine itself), but mine is a GAZ/ZMZ-53, V8 wobbler. From the Hull number plate I will try to make you a photo, too.

Hi,
I promised you a photo of the serial number or hull number. We in the Volga-Hydrofoil site are keeping promises! Here you have one + 1 close up.
Another one is the Shipyards ensignia or labbel, which is on the glove box cover of the dashboard (No serial number).

Hi
Thank you for the info about the serial nr I will go down to the marina and see if i can find it. When i lifted my volga the fins where covered in shells and seaweed, so i will paint these with poison colour for next year. Some summer pictures and a stamp. HAPPY VOLGA CHRISTMAS to everyone
