Re: No more steering issues....

Its like a dream come true, my Volga can steer in tight places now:-) The thruster is absolutely fantastic, i Can do a 360 turn in less than 30 seconds with the stern staying in the exact same place! Continous operation limit is 3", so the 40kg thruster is more than you will need. I have mounte...

Re: No more steering issues....

Here is a bit of update.. The thruster tunnel is now installed and riveted to the hull. I have painted it three times with 2-component epoxy, before the bottom paint. There is a support bracket with a hoist point inside the boat. Beware, this support is not stainless and caused corrosion in my hull....

Re: No more steering issues....

Hi Georg, Side-Power supplies about 40-50% of the market and is of very high quality. I havent been able to find any smaller with the same effect. It pushes 40kg, and the tunnel is not that big. I put it just in front of the fwd wing to make it least visible, and it will be white as the bottom paint...

No more steering issues....

Gents, After many thoughts, i have finally decided to deal with the maneuvering issues of my Volga.. It is a pain in the butt in almost all harbours, and i have decided to make my life easier with a bow thruster. I know, it doesen't belong there, but in our small harbours and canals in Copenhagen i ...

Re: Restauration project "Volga 2000"

Hello Gentlemen, My "Danish Volga" Uses a big block 7,9 Ltr. V8 engine with a heavy duty crusader V-drive and the same mahogany / teak deck. I have considered extending the ruddder as well, for better maneuvrebility in the harbour, but i am afraid it will apply too much lateral force at hi...

Re: Restauration project "Volga 2000"

Dear Robert,

Beautiful build, it will be fun to see how similar our boats will be.... Mine was build about 25 years ago, and i believe it was the first to have this appearance. 8)

How are you going to configure the interior?

Merry X-MAS

Re: "Danish" Volga

Hi Sandflite, Thank you for your info about my Volga, i am sure you can understand more litterature about the Volga than me, since you are Russian! I don't have any documentation for my boat except the American title, and i cannot find the hull number... There are some things i would like to change ...

"Danish" Volga

Hello Gents, it's wonderful to see there are other gearheads out there as crazy about the Volga 70 as i am!! My Mighty Hydro was owned by my father from 1984-1999. My father is a boatbuilder and used to build classic mahogani/oak raceboats, which somehow shows.... I was only 6 when he bought the boa...
